HVIP Deadline Approaching: Don’t Miss Out on Incentives for Your Zero-Emission Fleet Before 2025

Attention California fleet owners and operators! Beginning January 1, 2025, fleets with 50 vehicles or more will no longer be eligible for incentives through HVIP. This program offers substantial incentives for purchasing medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission trucks and buses, including the Xos SV Stepvan. With HVIP funding running out, now is the time to act to secure these valuable incentives.

Xos has been a proud participant in HVIP since 2021, evolving alongside the program to maximize the benefits for our customers. In August 2022, HVIP introduced the Innovative Small E-Fleet (ISEF) program, providing additional funding and making double voucher amounts a standard feature available year-round. These opportunities have significantly increased the funding requested and awarded to Xos through HVIP, with most of this funding benefiting small businesses in California. This development has positively impacted our California-based customers.

The landscape is about to change. The 2025 rule change will restrict fleets with 50 or more vehicles from participating in HVIP. Many affected customers will fall under the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Advanced Clean Fleets (ACF) regulation, making it crucial to secure funding for battery electric vehicles before the year ends. This funding is vital for future-proofing your fleet and ensuring compliance with ACF. Additionally, the CARB team overseeing HVIP has indicated that the program may run out of funding within the next year, increasing the urgency for submissions before the year’s end.

The Xos SV Stepvan is HVIP-eligible and offers a versatile, zero-emission solution perfect for various commercial applications. By taking advantage of HVIP incentives, fleet owners can lower their upfront costs, contribute to reducing tailpipe emissions, and improve air quality in their communities.

At Xos, we are dedicated to supporting fleet owners throughout the process. Having assisted our customers in securing over $50 million in incentives, we recognize the commitment required to navigate the complexities of HVIP, determine eligibility, and submit applications seamlessly. Our goal is to help you maximize funding opportunities while electrifying your fleet.

If you're a California fleet owner or operator with 50 vehicles or more, it's crucial to act now before the January 1, 2025, deadline. Contact Xos today to learn how you can secure HVIP incentives for the Xos SV Stepvan.
